Always travelling, Spyros Metaxa discovers different spirits and wines from around the world. Spirits of his time tend to be harsh on the palate, without much aroma or character. Spyros Metaxa dreams about crafting a unique spirit that is smooth yet intense. It would be a spirit that was a real journey through the senses. In 1888 he creates METAXA, the Original Greek Spirit.

Metaxa tastes and aromas are coming from Muscat wines from the island of Samos, aged wine distillates, and Mediterranean botanicals. The wine distillates and Muscat wines are aged separately, and then blended in Limousin oak casks.

Metaxta’s Private Reserve Brandy is very old expression in the range. Containing brandies aged for up to 30 years, this is rich and full-bodied yet at the same.

NOSE

Dry apricot and prune, honey and black raisins.

TASTE

Voluptuous and intense. Brack raisins, caramel and a mix of peppers. Very long aftertaste and rewarding, with dry fruit and sweet spices.
