Dalmore 12Y Old
Dalmore’s extraordinary Scottish single malt whiskies have become ones of the most valuable and fastest growing whisky brands in the world in the last years*. Dalmore Distillery started its activities in 1839 and was almost a century in the ownership of Mackenzie clan. The products prove the impact of the clan up to today by bearing the royal emblem of the antlers.
The perfect distillery, located in the deep Scottish highlands, in the northern coast of the strait of Cromarty, enables to use the natural resources from the water of Lake Morie found in the mountains near the distillery up to golden barley, enriched by the soil of Black Isle. The location above sea is of critical importance for the distillery, as surrounded by the salty air the location of the warehouse building directed to the sea is an ideal condition for the aging of the best whiskies.
Aroma is smoky bitter chocolate and aromatic spices with the dominance of clove and cinnamon can be scented. The peat smoke, dried orange crust and roasted coffee beans add to the finishing aroma note. In taste is chocolate with kumquat and clove can be felt, ripe citrus fruit and cinnamon are added. Aftertaste is spicy and is completed by the note of bitterish mocha coffee.
